COLUMBIA, South Carolina — According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, a three-year-old boy has died after he fatally shot himself Wednesday evening.
Police responded to the accidental shooting call at the Wyndham Pointe Apartments on Brighton Hill Road around 6 p.m.
The boy was rushed to a hospital by family where he was pronounced deceased.
No arrests have been made and it was not revealed how the child accessed the firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
