TEXAS — A viral photo posted online showing elderly women trapped in Texas floodwaters is absolutely authentic, the owner of the facility says.

Nursing home residents in Dickinson, Galveston County, Texas were airlifted to safety Sunday after flooding caused by hurricane Harvey swamped the building.

The owner of ‘La Vita Bella,’ Trudy Lampson, told the New York Daily News she snapped the image and sent it to her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Timothy McIntosh.

Timothy then posted the image on Twitter, writing: ‘Need help asap emergency services please RETWEET’

Around 15 were taken to safety by the National Guard via helicopter.

Lampson says they decided not to evacuate the residents because the facility has never flooded before.
