ATLANTA — Federal officials are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a murder suspect wanted by the Irvington, NJ Police Department / Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and is now believed to be in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area.
On May 12, 2017, at approximately 12:33 p.m., the Irvington, New Jersey Police Department was called to a residence with reports of shots having been fired. Arriving officers located the victim, Dino Bermudez, age 34, on the front porch of that residence conscious but having sustained gunshot wounds to the left thigh. Bermudez was transported to the hospital but subsequently died of his wounds.
Dennis M. Cunningham, aka Muhamad, age 48, has been charged by the State of New Jersey with murder in connection with Mr. Bermudez’ death. Cunningham is described as being a black male, 6’2”, weighing 215 lbs. Cunningham has family in the Douglasville, Georgia area but also has ties to the Jessup, Georgia area as well.
The FBI has also charged Mr. Cunningham with federal Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP).
