ARKANSAS DEATH ROW INMATES SERVED LAST MEAL AS THEY PREPARE TO DIE

The state of Arkansas is set to conduct the nation’s first double execution since the year 2000.

Convicted inmates Jack Jones and Marcel Williams are both scheduled to die at 7 p.m. local time.

According to the Associated Press, Jones and Williams have received their ‘last meals.’

Jones was served his request of fried chicken, potato logs with tartar sauce, beef jerky bites, three candy bars, a chocolate milkshake and fruit punch.

Williams had fried chicken, banana pudding, nachos, two sodas and potato logs with ketchup, according to the AP report.

Jones was convicted in the violent rape and slaying of 34-year-old Mary Phillips and the attempted murder of her daughter, 11.

Williams was found guilty of killing Stacy Errickson, a 22-year-old mother.

Both inmates entered guilty pleas at trial and do not declare innocence.

Since 1820, a total of 505 individuals have been executed in Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Department of Correction, as of April 21, 2017, a total of 32 men were under a sentence of death in the state.
