BALTIMORE – Maryland police have identified the human remains discovered in a container in Baltimore as those of Versey Spell, a 75-year-old woman who was reported missing on Oct. 19.

According to Baltimore police, the remains were confirmed to be Spell’s after an autopsy was conducted on March 8, and her death was ruled a homicide.

The discovery was made on March 7 when fire department members and police responded to a report and found a container with skeletal remains near a sidewalk.

Spell was a retired federal employee and had worked as a greeter at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, as reported by WJZ.

Her family had discovered her apartment in disarray with the door forced open and her glasses found outside, but her cane, walker, and other personal items were still inside.

No arrests have been made and motive for her murder was not confirmed by police.
