Body Found Is Missing Baltimore Woman Charla Melvin, Medical Examiner Confirms

The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation into a deceased female found in Baltimore City, confirmed to be that of missing woman Charla Melvin.

Homicide detectives were called to the 2300-block of Hollins Street, 21223, by Baltimore Police just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14.

The medical examiner confirmed the body is that of Charla Melvin, 50, of the 3700-block of Twin Lakes Court, 21244. Initial findings are that Melvin’s death occurred from sharp force trauma.

Charla Melvin was reported missing by her family on Monday, September 9. Police suspected that Ms. Melvin was the victim of foul play after her cousin, Thomas Davis Jr, was found deceased the following day, September 10, in Baltimore City. Baltimore Police determined that Davis committed suicide.

Detectives continue to search for Melvin’s vehicle, a black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with Maryland registration ‘3CR7429’.
