Border Patrol agents stop murderers, sexual predators, and a gang member

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested several criminal aliens attempting to illegally enter the United States.

On Friday, December 1, 2017, agents assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol Station encountered a Salvadoran national near McAllen, Texas. Record checks revealed that the individual had a previous conviction in the State of Texas for intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Later that day, McAllen agents apprehended another Salvadoran national near Hidalgo, Texas. It was later revealed the subject was a member of the 18th Street Gang, a notoriously violent gang composed of illegal immigrants.

On Saturday, December 2, 2017, agents working near Falfurrias, Texas took a Salvadoran national into custody as he attempted to circumvent the checkpoint. Records checks revealed the subject had been arrested by the Washington D.C. Police Department for negligent manslaughter and was subsequently sentenced to eleven months confinement.

That same day, agents in McAllen caught a Mexican national near Hidalgo, Texas attempting to sneak into the United States. It was later revealed the subject had an extraditable warrant from the Shelby County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office for sexual battery by authority figure.

On Sunday, December 3, 2017, Weslaco agents arrested a Mexican national near Progreso, Texas. The subject had an extraditable warrant issued last month by the South Padre Island, Texas Police Department for sexual assault of a child.
