MASSACHUSETTS – Stephanie Lak, a nanny in the Boston area, is being accused of sex crimes against children.

The investigation began when members of the Boston Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on March 2, 2021.

Lak, 36, of Roxbury, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of material of a child in a sex act.

During a search of her home, cops seized a laptop and cellphone and found several incriminating videos and images in a Kik messaging app. Reports say police identified her location after she posted a selfie on the app.

All the identities of the victims are being kept confidential, police said.

According to CBS Boston, Lak was ‘active on the childcare website Sittercity as recently as last month and has a long history as a babysitter and nanny.’

Lak wept as she appeared in court today. Watch below.

The FBI said, “If you or your minor dependent(s) have been in contact with Stephanie Lak and think you may be a victim of the allegations in this case, please email [email protected] and provide your name and best contact information to have a member of the investigative team contact you.”
