SEATTLE — Seattle police were on scene of a shooting at a north Seattle high school Tuesday morning. The call came in around 11:00 a.m. local time.
“There was gunfire reported at Ingraham High School this morning. One student is believed to have been shot,” the school district said in a statement. “The campus is currently on lockdown. Seattle Police are on the scene and working with the district’s Safety and Security team.”
“The campus is secure at this time,” the district added. “The school remains in lockdown. No students are being released at this time.”
The suspected shooter was later taken into custody near the school. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
