3 Young Children Shot, 1 Fatally, In Apparent Drive-By Shootings In Statesville, NC: Police

Three juveniles were shot, one fatally, in separate shootings in Statesville Monday night.

The following is a summary of events provided by the Statesville Police Department:

On Monday, June 28, 2021 at 6:56 pm, the Statesville Police Department responded to a call of subjects shot at 1309 Wilson Lee Boulevard, Statesville. Officers located two children outside of the residence who suffered gunshot wounds. One child was a 9 year old black female child and the other was 7 year old black male. Officers arrived and immediately began life saving efforts until EMS arrived. Witnesses stated a white possible Mercedes was heading southbound in the 1300 block of Wilson Lee Boulevard with a subject shooting from inside the vehicle. Both children were transported from the scene to the hospital. The 9 year old child succumb to her injuries and is deceased. The 7 year old child is being treated for his injuries.

While the Statesville Police Department was processing the crime scene at 1309 Wilson Lee Boulevard, at 8:34 pm, we heard gunshots and responded to 316 New Bern Avenue, Statesville where a 10 year old black male suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Witnesses stated a white possible Honda Accord drove by with a subject shooting from inside the vehicle. The Iredell County Sherriff’s Office and Mooresville Police Department responded and assisted with crowd control and scene security.

If you saw the murder of this innocent child and injuries to the other innocent children, you must help in solving these cases.
