CINCINNATI — Officials were responding to a reported active shooter situation at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Wednesday—police say an officer has been shot.
The scene is in the 3200 block of Burnet Avenue. The hospital has been placed on lockdown.
The suspect is deceased due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The wounded officer is expected to survive.
Police responded to an active shooter this afternoon at the UC Health Business Center. Suspect is down. Employees should remain in their areas. Visitors please avoid the area if possible.
