ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — The ex-boyfriend of a woman killed in the explosion in Aliso Viejo Tuesday has been arrested.

Ildiko Krajnyak, 48, died in the blast at the office building where she owned a day spa. Three other people were injured.

Investigators say they found a ‘destructive device’ during the service of a search warrant at a Long Beach home. The resident, Stephen Beal, 59, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an unregistered destructive device. Although, Beal has not been charged directly with the explosion.

He is expected to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana this afternoon. “No additional details will be made available until Mr. Beal is officially charged in a federal criminal complaint later today, at which time officials will provide additional details,” the FBI said in a statement.

A motive for the crime was not known.

The deadly blast at the medical building was the result of an “intentional detonation,” police said earlier—possibly a package bomb.

When the news first broke, local media reported a car crashed into the building located at 5 Mareblu before the explosion was reported.

The scene was declared a second-alarm fire and a hazmat situation.

A nearby daycare was evacuated as a precaution.
