GEORGIA — A 44-story building in downtown Atlanta was being evacuated Tuesday afternoon. The scene is at 2 Peachtree Street—-The State of Georgia Building.
According to officials, the measure is due to a suspicious vehicle in the area.
“Emergency personnel are on the scene and will advise further,” the Department of Public Safety said in an email to local media. No injuries were reported.
The State of Georgia Building, alternately referenced as 2 Peachtree Street, is a 566 feet skyscraper. Built in 1966, the building was the tallest building in the Southeast at the time.
