IRAQ — Civilian casualties have been reported after rockets struck inside the Green Zone compound in Baghdad near the United States embassy Sunday. At least five rockets were launched.
Another missile landed on the river bank adjacent to the American embassy, according to local media.
At the time of this posting, it was unclear who was responsible for the attack.
The news comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran following the killing of Iraqi General Qasem Soleimani.
Meanwhile, 1 US service member and 2 US Dept. of Defense contractors were killed, and 2 Dept. of Defense “members” were injured, in an attack at Manda Bay Airfield by al-Shabab terror group in Kenya.
