On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted unanimously to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the ‘Vaccines for Kids’ program. The vote was 15-0.

The Vaccines For Children (VFC) program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay.

Wednesday’s vote is not related to a school vaccine recommendation or requirement.

This is a breaking news update.
