COLORADO – The man who opened fire inside of a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado Monday was ‘previously known’ to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), according to reporting by The New York Times.

The alleged shooter, 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, walked into the King Soopers store and opened fire, killing 10 people, including a police officer.

“The suspect’s identity was previously known to the F.B.I. because he was linked to another individual under investigation by the bureau,” the Times reported, without elaborating.

Alissa also purchased a Ruger AR-556 semiautomatic pistol less than a week before the attack, the report said. Although, it is unclear if that was the weapon he used.
