UPDATE: FBI Investigating Bomb Threats, Southwest Airlines Releases Statement

ATLANTA, Ga.– Hartsfield Jackson Airport–  Two flights, Delta flight 1156 and Southwest flight 2492, have credible threats of pipe bombs being on board.

Both aircrafts are now on the ground. The FBI is awaiting the results of EOD (Explosive Ordinances Disposal) inspection of the planes.

According to the FBI, each passenger will be searched and interviewed before being allowed to leave area.

Flight delays are expected, since all air traffic south of runway in question has been halted.

These flight days will also affect flights coming and leaving Savannah. -WJCL

UPDATE:

FBI officials say the passengers on both flights will be interviewed and searched before they are allowed to leave the area.

According to WSB-TV, all air traffic south of runway 27 left is being halted so there will be delays.

Southwest Airlines released the following statement Saturday afternoon:

“Due a security situation, the aircraft operating Flight 2492 was taken to a remote area of the airport where Customers and the aircraft are being rescreened. Our number one priority is the Safety of our Customers and People. We cannot comment on the nature of the security situation.”
