WASHINGTON – A Trump-appointed federal judge on Tuesday threw out the former President’s attempt to block Congress from obtaining his tax returns.

“A long line of Supreme Court cases requires great deference to facially valid congressional inquiries. Even the special solicitude accorded former presidents does not alter the outcome,” U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden wrote of the lawsuit.

“Even if the former president is right on the facts, he is wrong on the law,” Judge McFadden added. “It may not be right or wise to publish the returns, but is the Chairman’s right to do so.”

Trump can appeal the ruling to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
