Helicopter Responding to Arizona Wildfire Crashes

PAYSON, Arizona — A helicopter dispatched to deliver supplies and help battle a wildfire in the Tonto National Forest crashed Tuesday, officials confirmed.

The fate of the pilot or those on-board are not known. A press conference is scheduled for later in the afternoon.

The area where the “Polles Fire” is burning is only accessible by helicopter, officials say.  The blaze has burned nearly 600 acres.
