ST. JOHN PARISH, La. – Louisiana State Police say a helicopter crashed on I-10 in Louisiana Tuesday afternoon.
Crews are working the scene eastbound at milepost 212 near the Bonne Carré Spillway Bridge. Details regarding deaths or injuries were not immediately available.
According to WVUE, about 20,000 people lost power around the same time as the crash.
I-10 eastbound at US Hwy 51 is currently closed. I-10 eastbound traffic is being diverted to US Hwy 51 southbound. I-55 southbound is also currently closed and southbound traffic is being diverted to US Hwy 51.
