Memphis Fires 2 EMTs, Fire Official Who Responded To Police Beating of Tyre Nichols

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Fire Dept. fired three emergency responders on Monday after an investigation found they failed to provide adequate medical care to Tyre Nichols, who was fatally beaten by police.

Nichols arrived at the hospital in critical condition and died three days later.

EMTs Robert Long and JaMichael Sandridge were terminated for failing to conduct a proper assessment, while Lt. Michelle Whitaker was fired for violating policy by staying in the vehicle.

Earlier on Monday, a sixth Memphis police officer was fired for his conduct during the arrest.
