The FBI is making progress in their ongoing investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

Federal prosecutors have reportedly issued grand jury subpoenas to former national security advisor Michael Flynn‘s ‘associates’—seeking ‘business records.’

CNN broke the news: The subpoenas issued in recent weeks by the US Attorney’s Office in Alexandria, Virginia, were received by associates who worked with Flynn on contracts after he was forced out as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014, according to the people familiar with the investigation.

Investigators have been looking into possible wrongdoing in how Flynn handled disclosures about payments from clients tied to foreign governments including Russia and Turkey […]

Flynn served as national security advisor from January 20, 2017, to February 13, 2017. He was forced to resign after information surfaced he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about the nature and content of his communications with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.

FBI director James Comey was fired by President Trump earlier Tuesday.
