Kevin Ferguson, better known as Kimbo Slice, was hospitalized in Coral Springs Florida on Monday and has since died.
According to an earlier TMZ report, the situation was ‘dire.’
ESPN confirmed the news and said police were gathering outside of the MMA fighter’s home due to a potential crowd gathering outside.
Police told the sports network no calls were made to the home and there is no police investigation ongoing.
At this time, it is unclear why 42-year-old was initially admitted to the hospital.
Slice became famous for mutual combat street fights which were spread across the Internet, leading Rolling Stone to call him “The King of the Web Brawlers.”
As of January 15, 2015, Slice has been under contract to Bellator MMA.
