A flight that was landing at O’hare International Airport has slid off the runway and into the grass on Friday afternoon.
There are currently no reported injuries.
Emergency services are assisting with evacuating passengers off the plane.
A spokesperson at United Airlines said that the plane partially rolled off the runway.
He confirmed that buses were being sent to bring customers back to the gate.
A passenger on-board the flight said: “Honestly we didn’t even realize we were sliding off the runway. It was so gentle it felt normal,” Dodge said. “Until the captain came on and said ‘remain in your seats with seatbelts fastened.’ We looked out the window and said ‘whoa, we’re not on the runway, we’re off in the snow.'”
