Nikki Haley is taking steps towards officially announcing her presidential campaign. On February 15th, she plans to reveal her candidacy at a launch event in Charleston, which supporters will receive an email invitation to attend. The news was reported by The Post and Courier of Charleston.
Haley, who served as South Carolina’s governor for six years and then as President Trump’s UN ambassador, will become the first challenger to run against Trump who currently holds the sole Republican nomination for the 2024 Presidential election.
Trump was recently in South Carolina for his own 2024 campaign event and was joined by GOP leaders including former Lieutenant Governor Henry McMaster.
