North Korea has told United States officials it is prepared to discuss the denuclearization of Korean Peninsula, according to Reuters.
The 2018 ‘North Korea–United States summit’ is the proposed future meeting between the leaders of North Korea and the United States planned to take place before the end of May 2018. This would be the first time a sitting U.S. President will have met the leader of North Korea since the Korean War.
Kim Jong Un, in a had-written letter, invited President Trump to meet. North Korea has also offered to suspend their nuclear missile testing alongside their invitation for talks.
Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that “in the meantime, all sanctions and maximum pressure must remain.”
