PHILADELPHIA — An Officer with the Philadelphia police department died Sunday after being struck while riding a motorcycle on Roosevelt Boulevard.
The incident happened around 4:10 p.m. The Officer was off-duty at the time of the crash.
The driver that hit the Officer fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later.
The Officer was rushed to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in critical condition but later died.

An investigation is ongoing. No further details were available.
