WASHINGTON — An person climbed over a security barrier on the south side of the White House Complex Monday afternoon.
The incident happened between the Ellipse and E Street.
According to the Secret Service, the suspect dropped a backpack and was immediately taken into custody on E Street by Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers.
The north fence line and E Street are closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
A full Ellipse closure has been initiated.
