The NYPD was responding to an active shooter at the Kings Plaza shopping mall in Brooklyn Saturday.
The call came into police around 6:00 p.m. local time. The scene is at 5100 Kings Plaza drive.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire before people ran in panic.
The NYPD later said a shell casing was found inside the mall and a male was arrested with a gun nearby.
Police were searching the building for any potential victims.
