
Several people were transported to hospitals after a gunman opened fire on a group of people in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood Tuesday night.
The scene is in the 200 block of South Lotus on the city’s West side.
Police say at least five people were wounded in the ‘mass shooting.’
Three females and two males were hospitalized. Their conditions were not known.
According to local media, the victims were targeted randomly and were not known to the shooter.
Witnesses say the suspect fled on foot.

Since January 1, 2017, there have been more than 300 shooting deaths and more than 1,400 shooting victims in Chicago.
