TEXAS – Police in Houston were on the scene at the home of Sen. Ted Cruz (R) on Tuesday night after a reported stabbing or cutting incident, reports say.

According to KTRK, ‘officers responded to reports of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted stab wounds on the arms at 7:44 p.m. on Ella Lee Lane.’

The identity of the teenager was not known. Although, speculation grew that is could be Cruz’s daughter, Caroline Cruz, who is 14.

A spokesman for Cruz confirmed to KTRK the incident involved a ‘family matter,’ but said Caroline is ‘OK and there were no serious injuries.’
