NEVADA CITY, CALIF. — The remains found in a shallow grave this week have been identified as missing Hollywood actress Adea Shabani. During an autopsy, the victim was positively identified through tattoos.

Shabani disappeared on Friday February 23, 2018, under suspicious circumstances. Shabani vanished after leaving her residence in the Duet apartments at 1745 N. Wilcox Ave. around 11:00 a.m. that day. Friends stated she left the front door unlocked.

On Tuesday March 27, 2018, her body was discovered along a creek in the Spenceville Wildlife in a shallow grave in a vast nature reserve in Nevada County, about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.

The manner of death has been determined to be homicide; however, the cause of death is still under investigation. Police say it appears Shabani sustained blunt force trauma to her head but final determination of cause is dependent upon toxicology and tissue analysis. No other major trauma was observed on Shabani’s person, deputies said.

According to KABC, ‘LAPD investigators believe Shabani’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Christopher Spotz, was involved in her death but could not elaborate how as they continue to investigate.’

On Thursday, Spotz led police on a pursuit near Los Angeles—Spotz fatally shot himself in the head after the short pursuit.

The investigation continues.
