NORTH CAROLINA — Dozens of officers descended on the scene of a shooting at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department headquarters Thursday night.
According to local media, a female officer was shot, possibly in the leg, and a suspect is down. The officer’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The condition of the suspect was not known.
Witnesses say they heard at least a dozen rounds fired—-it was unclear what led up to the shooting.
Officers used crime scene tape to block off the area. Roads surrounding the building were also blocked off.
