KWTX Reported: “Marlin police Officer Alvonda Kay, who was also working at the club, told an investigator she saw Gamble and Allen struggling, an arrest affidavit says.

She said Allen had Gamble against a wall and “heard a gunshot and realized that Allen had been shot,” the affidavit says.

She said she and a Temple police officer detained Gamble.

A second woman who witnessed the shooting told the investigator she saw the struggle and saw the man with whom Allen was struggling “pull out a handgun and shoot the man in uniform,” the affidavit says.”

Allen had been police chief in Marlin since 2009, and had been a law enforcement officer since 1994.
