Triple Murder Suspect In Standoff With Police After Releasing Toddler To Police Safe

A triple murder suspect wanted in Bibb County, Georgia was in a police standoff with police near Tampa, Florida Wednesday.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Moreland Avenue, at 9:22 p.m. on Tuesday.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found three people shot in the house and one female with injuries. It was reported that there was an altercation between 29-year-old Caesar Zamien Lamar Crockett Jr. and his child’s mother 30-year-old Jamila Augustine French. During the altercation, Crockett pulled a firearm and shot French’s mother, 67-year-old Janet Samuel, and stepfather, a 69-year-old James Samuel, and sister 47-year-old Lechasta Childs killing them. French was treated for her injuries she sustained during the physical altercation and released.

Crockett then fled the scene with his 2-year-old son King Cane Crockett.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Florida Highway Patrol that 29-year-old Caesar Zamien Lamar Crockett Jr. was spotted around 1:27 p.m., in Tampa.

Florida Highway Patrol Officers attempted to stop Crockett’s vehicle, but he fled from the officers. Crockett wrecked his vehicle at an off-ramp in Tampa.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Caesar handed over 2-year-old King Crockett to officers, unharmed. Caesar was then in an armed standoff with Florida Highway Patrol Officers and other law enforcement agencies.
