President Donald J. Trump reportedly urged former FBI Director James Comey to end the probe into Michael Flynn.

Comey allegedly made note of the February discussion in a memo written shortly after, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. […] He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go,” Trump said to Comey in the partially released memo by the New York Times.

Comey alleges in the document he only replied, “I agree he is a good guy.”

The White House says Trump never asked anyone to end the investigation: “While the president has repeatedly expressed his view that General Flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the president has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn. The president has the utmost respect for our law enforcement agencies, and all investigations.” the White House said in a statement, “This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the president and Mr. Comey.”

The bombshell report also alleges Trump suggested Comey prosecute news reporters who published leaked information.

Flynn was the first national security advisor appointed by President Trump. He was forced to resign after information surfaced he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about the nature and content of his communications with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.
