The call came in around 2 a.m. at the Cape Cod Village, which is a senior community in Sunnyvale on Borregas Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting out of the home. Neighbors say the flames reached all the way to the top of the trees. Firefighters took a defensive stance. Neighbors say there was an explosion and eventually a car caught fire. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to knock the fire down.
