GEORGIA — The U.S. Customs and Border Protection computer system went down from coast-to-coast for about 90 minutes Monday evening—problems persisted through the night.

According to the AP, the outage caused passengers entering the U.S. “to be processed by hand” at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, JFK and other facilities.

The issue was later resolved, an airport spokesman said—-declining to give further details.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the largest federal law enforcement agency of the Department of Homeland Security, responsible for processing international travelers at airports.

The agency released the following statement confirming ongoing issues: “U.S. Customs and Border Protection is experiencing a temporary outage with its processing systems at various air ports of entry and taking immediate action to address the technology disruption. CBP officers continue to process international travelers using alternative procedures until systems are back online. Travelers at some ports of entry are experiencing longer than usual wait times and CBP officers are working to process travelers as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest levels of security.”
