OCEANO DUNES, Calif. – On Saturday night, State Parks police received 911 calls of shots fired at the Oceano Dunes campsite. Officers responded and multiple victims were given treatment. At least 6 people were transported to local hospitals.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office detectives were dispatched to assist, and have since taken the lead on the investigation.
The gunman has been arrested and identified as Francisco Orozco. Orozco was arrested today on charges of attempted murder.
According to local media, an argument ensued around a campfire Saturday night before the suspect opened fire.
The Sheriff’s Office says this is an isolated incident.
