A suspected intruder was shot trying to break into WTTG FOX 5’s building in the Friendship Heights neighborhood in D.C. on Monday.
Video shows the 38-year-old man kicking down two glass doors before entering the lobby of the station–where he was shot by a security guard.

The unidentified suspect was taken to a hospital in critical condition. A motive for his crime was not revealed. Although, the station reports he was known for making threats to police and FOX executives.
NEW per police source: Suspect who broke into FOX 5/was shot by our security guard was known to police and FOX executives. Had made threats on law enforcement and FOX before. Unclear if those were directed at FOX 5 specifically. Shooting will likely be legally justified. @fox5dc

No employees of staff were injured during the incident. D.C. police are investigating.
