Yucaipa, CALIF. — A California father has been charged in the death of his baby daughter.
On Saturday, February 16, at 11:44 a.m., Yucaipa deputies responded to a medical aid call with a six-month old child not breathing. A deputy arrived and began lifesaving measures until medical aid arrived.
The baby was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center and doctors continued lifesaving measures until she was pronounced deceased at 6:41 p.m.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Children and Homicide Detail responded to conduct the investigation. Following their investigation, the baby’s father, 28-year-old Alfonso Ornelas was arrested for ‘Murder and Assault on a child causing great bodily injury/death.’
