CHICAGO -South Side Chicago Lawn–
48-year-old Jeffrey Ellis, was repairing a vehicle when it crushed him, police said.
Ellis was working on the vehicle in the 6600 block of South Homan when it fell on him, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, which is less than a block south of his home, the medical examiner’s office said.
Chicago Lawn is one of the 77 community areas of Chicago, Illinois.
It is located on the southwest side of the city. Its community neighbors include Gage Park, West Englewood, Ashburn, and West Lawn.
