Cash App Founder Bob Lee Slain In San Francisco At Age 43

According to both the cryptocurrency platform and the police, Bob Lee, a tech executive who created Cash App and was serving as the chief product officer of MobileCoin, was fatally stabbed in San Francisco early Tuesday.

On Tuesday at 2:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Main Street and found a 43-year-old man who appeared to have been stabbed. The victim was taken to a hospital but later died.

MobileCoin CEO Josh Goldbard stated in a release, “Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee passed away yesterday at the age of 43, survived by a loving family and collection of close friends and collaborators.” Goldbard added that Lee was a visionary, stating that “Lee was made for the new world.”

As of early Wednesday, there were no details about the stabbing’s circumstances or a possible motive.
