CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Champlain Port of Entry arrested a traveler after discovering alleged child pornography on Tuesday.
Just after midnight, CBP officers encountered a 29-year-old male attempting to enter the United State aboard a Greyhound Bus. Relying on experience and training, the primary officer discovered inconsistencies in the traveler’s stated purpose for coming to the U.S. and referred the individual for further inspection.
During the secondary inspection, the traveler admitted to officers that he was destined to Pennsylvania to meet with an underage student he had met on the internet.
Officers searched the traveler’s cell phone and uncovered alleged child pornography. The traveler was arrested turned over to the New York State Police to face charges.
