PHARR, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Pharr International Bridge arrested two women, after discovering a total of seven pounds of alleged cocaine concealed on their bodies.

“Our CBP officers did an exceptional job in the interception of these hard narcotics. I commend our officers for their continued dedication to our CBP mission,” said (A) Port Director Javier N. Cantu, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

On Feb. 28, CBP officers encountered two women, ages 19 and 54, a United States citizen and a Mexican citizen, respectively, from Pharr, TX as they attempted to enter the United States from Mexico in a grey 2002 Ford F-150. After referring them for further inspection and with the assistance of a canine team, officers discovered one package of suspected narcotics on each woman concealed under their clothing. CBP OFO seized the two packages of alleged cocaine, which have a total estimated street value of $54,060.

CBP OFO seized the narcotics along with the vehicle, arrested the women, and turned them over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents for further investigation.
