The vessel has been stranded since Christmas Eve.
The Chinese Icebreaker was forced to turn back after being unable to get through the heavy sea ice.
Three other Icebreakers have also failed to reach the stranded ship.
“I think we’re probably looking at another 24 hours of twiddling our fingers and waiting for something to happen,” said Stone, the expedition spokesman.
No word on a new plan.
