A construction contractor from Clyde, Ohio is charged with raping a Miami University student while working in Oxford, Ohio.
On Saturday, around 1:20 a.m., Oxford Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a sexual assault that had occurred on N. College Ave.
The caller, a passerby, said he found a Miami University student lying in the front yard crying who stated she had been raped.
She did not know the identity of the suspect but had accepted a ride from him from an uptown bar, police said.
The suspect was identified and located at a local hotel within a couple of hours of the original report. He was identified as Zachary Michael Frankart, 21, of Clyde, Ohio.
He is a construction contractor working in Oxford. At the conclusion of the investigation, he was charged with Rape, a first degree felony, and Theft (personal property of the victim), a 5th degree felony, and was taken to Butler County Jail.
