ALABAMA — Charles Eugene Pearce Jr., 59, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on October 6th in Birmingham. Police have released dashcam footage in hopes of identifying the driver responsible for triggering the crash.
Statement from the Birmingham Police Department: The Birmingham Police Department reports investigators are conducting a hit and run investigation that resulted in a fatality. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. The Birmingham Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the white vehicle involved in the accident that left the scene.
At approximately 5:02 p.m., BPD responded to a traffic collision at I-59 North / I- 59 South. The investigation indicated the accident was caused by a white vehicle that struck a small silver sedan. The silver sedan was catapulted into an 18 wheeler causing the 18 wheeler to strike a black SUV. The driver of the 18 wheeler was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the white vehicle left the scene of the accident.

Charles Pearce Jr., 59, of Gulf Shores was driving a car-hauler semi when a hit-&-run driver sparked the crash which sent the truck over the barrier, falling 25 feet.
