DELAWARE — On December 11, 2018, officers from New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Auckland Drive, in the community of Wellington Woods for a reported rape.
The officers learned that a juvenile victim had been forced into a residence by several males. Once inside the residence, the victim was forcibly raped by 4 juvenile males.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Family Services Squad assumed the case and through their investigation, four males were identified. Investigators executed various search warrants during the course of the investigation and located additional evidence linking the suspects to the crimes.
On Wednesday, January 16 detectives obtained arrest warrants for 13-year-old Louis Miller, 14-year-old Kabarshenay Ellis-Pinkney, 12-year-old Ja’den Glover and 13-year-old Joseph James-Carter. The investigation further revealed that Louis Miller and Joseph James-Carter also menaced the victim with a weapon after the incident and warned her not to tell anyone. All were arrested without incident.
Louis Miller was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Aggravated Menacing, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, two counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree, one count of misdemeanor Terroristic Threatening, one count of misdemeanor Theft under $1500, and one count of misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $65,500 secured bail.
Kabarshenay Ellis-Pinkney was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, and two counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail.
Ja’den Glover was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, and three counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was also arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail.
Joseph James-Carter was charged with one count of felony Rape in the First Degree, one count of Kidnapping in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Aggravated Menacing, one count of felony Conspiracy in the First Degree, three counts of felony Unlawful Sexual Contact in the second degree. He was arraigned by Family Court and held in lieu of $104,000 Cash Bail.
