Downtown Globe, Ariz. Being Evacuated Due To HAZMAT Incident

GLOBE, ARIZONA – Officials in downtown Globe were evacuating buildings Wednesday after an unidentified substance ‘that is considered potentially volatile’ was discovered, a city spokesperson says.

The Globe Fire Department has evacuated all buildings in Downtown Globe from Sycamore to Mesquite Streets and Pine To Hill Streets.

The substance was found in a storefront on the 100 North Block of Broad.

Officials say the area was evacuated as a precautionary measure and a DPS Hazmat team was called to assess and remove the hazardous material.

No injuries have been reported.

Globe is a city in Gila County, Arizona.
